Frequently Asked Questions
|
Question: What is TipClub?
Answer:
TipClub is business networking and support company that allows members to meet face-to-face, over the phone, or on the Internet to form strategic partnerships, build business alliances, share sales referrals, and exchange business contacts. Data is stored in a password-protected environment on TipClub.com. Members can access business information online 24 hours-a day, 7 days-a-week.
Question: How old is TipClub?
Answer:
TipClub was launched as a project in 1999 and became a standalone company in 2004.
Question: Is TipClub like Linkedin, Ryze, ecademy, and other online business networks?
Answer:
Not really. Although TipClub uses the Internet to connect members, there are major differences between TipClub and other online business networking companies. TipClub’s main objective is to build productive business networks with quality members rather than achieving a critical mass with a high quantity of members like most online networks. Would we like to have 50 million members? Absolutely! But not at the cost of adding quality members. Furthermore, TipClub offers:
•Private business networking that is focused on specific markets
•Managed business networking that insures accountability and productivity
•Local business networking that allows members in a region to work together
•Exclusive business networking that gives members exclusivity in their respective profession
•Peer business networking that focuses on a member’s specific business needs. There are specific groups that exist for executives, sales people, government markets, and more!
Question: Is TipClub like BNI, LeTip, and lead clubs that have face-to-face meetings?
Answer:
Yes and no. There are many traditional business networking groups (“referral groups”) that exist in the world. TipClub agrees in principle that business networking groups need accountibility, structure, and trust among members to be successful. But TipClub believes there are better ways to achieve these objectives. First, TipClub doesn’t have mandatory meetings. Meetings are flexible and can be scheduled by members in many different ways (large events, small group, one-to-one, etc) based on a member’s schedules and business needs. Second, there are many different methods of communication among the members. For example, face-to-face meetings, teleconferences, and the website all play an important role in connecting members. Finally, TipClub does not have a “one-size-fits-all” business networking environment. The business networking groups in TipClub have a razor-sharp focus, common goals, and accountability features that allow members to make the best use of their time while still having the capability to cross-network with other TipClub business networking groups.
Question: What are the locations of TipClub’s services?
Answer:
TipClub services are offered throughout the continental United States. Future plans for expansion include Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and several other countries throughout the world.
Question: What are the costs to join TipClub?
Answer:
Basic membership is free. TipClub provides premier services that are customized based on your business needs and budget. Please contact us at info@Tipclub.com or call us at 800-798-0270 so that we can recommend the appropriate business development service for your firm.
Question: Will I be the only member representing my respective business or industry?
Answer:
That depends on your membership level. Premier members are granted exclusivity; basic members are not. A Business Development Manager will help determine the representation of products and services. Many industries have complementary services (i.e. new computer sales, computer-part sales, computer repair services, used equipment, etc) that provide synergies amongst members. The goal of your Business Development Manager is to form a strong, synergistic team that will work together.
Question: If I am currently a member of TipClub and I wish not to renew my membership or can no longer participate, may I transfer my membership to a colleague who represents the same industry as I?
Answer:
TipClub subscriptions are non-transferable but we will occasionally allow this type of transfer if it is in the best interests of the respective business networking and support group.
Question: How long can I be a member?
Answer:
As long as you are in good standing with the other members of your Tip Club and abide by the club's policies and rules, your membership is ongoing. We want our members to build long-lasting relationships that are built on trust and mutual respect.
Question: What is the difference between a premier and a basic membership?
Answer:
The difference between the two levels of membership are as follows:
Premier Membership:
•Become an exclusive member for your profession
•Receive target business opportunities
•Receive target sales referrals
•Find key business contacts
•Schedule meetings
•Review business reports
•Plus all the features of basic membership…
Basic Membership:
•It’s free!
•Complete a profile
•Review member profiles
•Contact members
•Post listings
•Utilize the “prospect list”
•Receive newsletters
•Backup, substitute, or replace nonparticipating exclusive members
Question: Will I get spammed using TipClub?
Answer:
No. TipClub's online system was designed to reduce spam. Members are able to send email via a private email form. In addition, Members have display options they may select in deciding what other members may see in their profile. All information is considered confidential and will not be sold or used by any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Question: Why do I keep getting signed out?
Answer:
If your website session is inactive for 20 minutes you will be logged out of the system. We have put this timeout feature into place to increase the security of your membership and to conserve web server resources.
Question: Do you have a user agreement?
Answer:
Yes, the TipClub User Agreement can be found at rules.asp
